Hello Friends,
Thank you so much for stopping by!
After 30 wonderful years as a salon owner and hairstylist, I decided it was time for a new chapter. In January 2020, I followed a lifelong passion and enrolled in the Horticulture program at Edmonds College. During that time, I also completed the WSU Master Gardener certification and later graduated with a degree in Greenhouse Nursery Operations and Ornamental Horticulture, along with the UW Master Pruning series.
I absolutely love getting my hands in the soil—fall is my favorite season, and I have a special love for hydrangeas and trees, both evergreen and deciduous. My garden style could best be described as “organized chaos,” full of cottage charm. I like to keep plants in their natural forms—though every now and then, I enjoy breaking the rules.
My husband and I have five kids between us, two grandchildren, two cats, and a Frenchie named Kash. In July 2024, we made the move to Gig Harbor, downsizing from five acres of gardens to a cozy quarter-acre plot. It’s been such a fun new challenge to see just how much beauty I can fit into this smaller space!
While my focus has shifted to plants and design, I’m still behind the chair a couple of days a week. I’ve created a cleaner, more holistic salon environment to continue doing what I love without the harsh chemicals and fragrances of traditional salons. I feel so lucky to still connect with my wonderful clients in this new way.
Growing up in a family of gardeners, it’s no surprise that this love of plants has become such a central part of my life. I’m grateful to combine all my passions—as a gardener, plant specialist, teacher, and hairstylist—and to keep learning and creating along the way.
With love,
Michelle
